The origin of brownies
Brownies originated from the United States at the end of the 19th century. While the exact origin of the dessert is unknown, the first known printed recipe for brownies dated back in 1899, chocolate was not added to the confectionery. This is in reference to the molasses cakes we know today as blondies.
They are traditionally served with milk or cream, even topped with powdered sugar or fudge.
Fun Fact: Brownies are in fact cookies and not cake!
Documentation of recreating the recipe
We feel that the end product of the brownie cake was very close to the appearance of that in the video. After baking the oven, the top of the cake had a beautiful crackled shiny coating. However, when making the ganache, one might consider cutting the chocolate chips to smaller pieces so that it melts easily. One can even opt to heat the whipping cream in the microwave if they don't want to use a stove.
The cake was rich in flavor and incredibly fudgy, melting in the mouth when eaten. Albeit being a bit sugary, the dark chocolate provides a well-rounded balance between sweet and bitter.
