Mirror glaze cakes were only created in 2016 by a Russian baker, Olga Noskova. She shared her creations on social media which helped raise awareness about mirror glaze cakes. It quickly became very popular as many found the bright and glossy coat very intriguing. Baker Shripriya Gupta commented “This new trend in the pastry world is very attractive as it is all about a beautiful, shiny glaze”. Many recipes and designs of mirror glaze cakes are still shared today on social media as it gives people an opportunity to be creative and decorate their cake in a certain way.
